Oral hygiene is usually considered a monotonous routine, something we do robotically without thinking, before leaving for work or before our heads hit the pillow at night. When defining self-care practices, it's certainly at the bottom of the list – far behind restful sleep, luxurious face masks, and green juice recipes. But we believe that's about to change.
All lip masks and kits will certainly leave your lips looking prettier and softer, but they won't keep your teeth white and bright or your breath fresh. That's why we're sharing the benefits of oil pulling . An ancient Ayurvedic practice over 5,000 years old – for good reason: it naturally whitens teeth, refreshes the mouth , and protects different parts of this ecosystem.
In Ayurveda, oil pulling is believed to have a detoxifying effect, literally removing oil-soluble toxins from the body through the delicate blood vessels of the mouth tissues. Our mouths contain billions of organisms, and some of them contribute to the development or progression of systemic diseases. Since oil pulling has no side effects, we can't think of a reason not to incorporate this meditative and oral hygiene technique into your dental routine.
Oil pulling is the act of swishing a tablespoon or more of an oil mixture in your mouth over a period of time, giving it a little extra love by pushing it through the spaces between your teeth and massaging your gums. The top choices for oils are sesame and coconut oils for their antibacterial properties – certainly the most refreshing in terms of flavor nuances.
ROUTINE
Oil pulling should be done in the morning on an empty stomach , ideally after cleaning the tongue with a scraper , and at night after brushing your teeth . Oil pulling is supposed to last 10 to 20 minutes , which may seem like a long time at first, so our advice is to start slowly, with at least 3 minutes.
It also ends up being a kind of massage for the facial muscles . In fact, it can be beneficial in cases of accumulated tension in the temporomandibular joint or for those who suffer from recurring migraines, as well as being great for toning the skin of the face and stimulating its elasticity.
PRECAUTIONS TO TAKE
It's very important that you don't swallow the oil. After all, it's holding all the toxins/bacteria that may be present in your mouth, and we don't want to swallow any of that.
You should also throw it away in a trash can and not directly down the sink, because oils (especially coconut oil) can solidify and clog pipes. Oil pulling does not replace brushing and flossing, nor does it replace regular dental visits, no matter how beneficial it may be. Therefore, maintain your usual oral hygiene routine – simply include this practice to feel even better!
You can now start oil pulling with the Brilha Whitening Elixir.
GOOD THINGS TO KNOW
You'll notice immediate results with this practice, including a reduction in bad breath and the risk of gingivitis and cavities. That's because oil pulling is extremely effective at reducing oral problems without the harshness of common medications.
Oil pulling is beneficial for the tooth surface, meaning it can prevent cavities. It's also considered anti-aging for gums and teeth, as well as soothing and treating lesions in the mouth tissues. If you've never considered an anti-aging plan for your mouth until now, imagine the alternative. It's not pretty.
So rinse, spit, and repeat daily!

Recomendo vivamente.
