HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WASH MY HAIR?

Of all the myths related to hair health and beauty, perhaps one of the most deeply rooted (not even on purpose!) is the idea that washing your hair too often is bad for you. Nothing could be further from the truth. We mustn't forget that the scalp (where the hair is born) ages 6 times faster than the skin on the face, which is why we need to give it our full attention, including keeping it clean and free of sediment that prevents the follicles from developing properly.

With this in mind, our advice is to wash your hair without fear, using the right products (shampoo and conditioner, at least), plenty of water (don't be afraid to wet your hair thoroughly) and as often as you like, at least every other day, and if your hair asks for it, every day. We'll explain everything.

How often should I wash my hair?

It all starts at the scalp

The scalp is where the health and beauty of our hair begins, and for that reason alone it should be almost sacred. Even though it's covered in hair, have you ever thought about the amount of "aggression" we subject it to? The factors we are exposed to on a daily basis, such as pollution and sweat, can lead to weakened hair and unhealthy hair growth.

Like a garden that we tend so that the plants can grow, we want our hair to be fertile ground for new strands to grow in the follicles, creating the right conditions (particularly in terms of humidity). When we wash our hair regularly, we are cleaning our scalp of unhealthy sediments, while at the same time moisturizing the hair enough for healthy growth. Washing will also remove dead skin cells that build up in the follicle, clogging it up, which is why it's so important to keep the scalp clean, especially after we've sweated a lot (after a workout, for example, when the sweat dries out, dumping the "debris" on the scalp).

5 tips for washing your hair properly

Just as important as how often you wash your hair is how you wash it and what products you choose to care for it. Here are a few tips that make all the difference.

‌1. Wet your hair well

Have you ever noticed how well they wet your hair when you wash it at the salon? Before applying the shampoo, wet your hair and scalp thoroughly. You'll find it much easier to rinse your hair thoroughly afterwards. shampoo to the end, avoiding the accumulation of residues that cause a lack of shine.

‌2. Rub in gently

Now it's time to apply shampoo. Put a good amount of shampoo in your hands and dilute it with water before applying it to your hair. An important tip: have you ever tried washing your hair upside down? It's great, and it will allow you to rub and massage your scalp in areas you don't normally reach. Start at the nape of the neck and apply the shampoo, moving towards the front in a circular motion to avoid tangles. Let the shampoo drain naturally, taking advantage of the force of gravity, to wash the rest.

Just as important as following these techniques is choosing the right products. We recommend our Bergamot and Orange Blossom Shampooformulated with 100% natural ingredients, which will leave your hair clean, shiny and with an irresistible scent. If your hair is fragile or prone to hair loss, then the best option is our Bergamot and Orange Blossom Shampoo. Super Hair Shampooa revitalizing and moisturizing formula that deeply cleanses the hair and soothes the most sensitive scalps, stimulating healthy and strong growth.

3. Double wash

Experts also recommend double washing, perhaps not every time you wash your hair, but alternately. In other words, repeat the water-shampoo-water process twice for an even deeper and more effective cleanse. If your hair is in need of a boost of moisture, nutrients and energy, you could try applying the Super Hair Maska powerful formula based on plants and natural oils, which we recommend applying in the evening, before going to bed, and removing the next day by washing it out.

4. Use conditioner well

Apply the conditioner only where you need it (some people need it all over their hair, others only on the ends, others from mid-length to the ends), leaving it on for a few minutes so that it is really absorbed. Golden rule, absolutely essential: after application, rinse your hair thoroughly so that no shampoo or conditioner residue remains in your hair.

Our Bergamot and Orange Blossom Conditioner is the perfect complement to shampoo. Formulated with 100% natural ingredients, it leaves hair detangled and silky, while moisturizing and nourishing the hair.

‌5. Rinse with cold water

There's nothing better than plenty of cold water to finish off the process. If you don't have the courage, at least make it lukewarm. Water that is too hot is really damaging to the hair, as it will break and dry out the strands, and even accentuate frizz. Cold water, on the other hand, helps to close the cuticle, retaining more moisture and controlling frizz.
