Cake King of Vanilla and Chocolate

Ingredients

Mass

  • 500 ml of warm milk (not hot, not to "kill" the yeast)
  • 1 vanilla pod (razine the seeds of the interior)

  • 200 g of yellow sugar
  • 250 g of quark or cream
  • 100 g of unsalted butter (at room temperature)

Filling

  • 200 g of cooking chocolate (chopped)
  • 50 g of yellow sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of the mixture Hormonal equilibrium 
  • 1 generous pitch of salt (optional: salt flower)
  • 40 g of unsalted butter (at room temperature)
  • ½ orange scrape (optional)

To brush

  • 1 beaten egg with 2 tablespoons of cream
  • Yellow sugar (optional, to sprinkle)

Mode of preparation

Prepare the dough

  1. Heat the milk with the vanilla pod and the seeds. Leave infusion for at least 10 minutes. Remove the pod.
  2. Dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let stand for 5 minutes until foaming. This indicates that yeast is active.
  3. In the bowl of the mixer, mix milk, sugar, salt and quark or cream.
  4. Add the flour alternately with butter, beating well between each addition. Continue until you get a soft, wet pasta that does not paste to the sides of the bowl. Be careful not to add too much flour as it can make bread dry and hard.
  5. Cover the dough with a damp kitchen cloth and let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Prepare the stuffing

  1. Choose the chocolate and place it in a food processor. Make it until you get a mixture of larger pieces and dust.
  2. Add sugar, mixture hormonal equilibrium and salt and process again to mix.
  3. Add the butter and beat until it forms a homogeneous paste. If desired, incorporate the orange scrape into a citrus touch. Reserve.

Assembly

  1. Preheat the oven at 180 ° C.
  2. Turn the dough on a floured surface and extend it in a long rectangle.
  3. Spread the chocolate folder evenly over the dough.
  4. Wrap the dough on the longest side, forming a cylinder. Tighten the ends to close well.
  5. With a sharp knife, cut the cylinder in half towards the length. Turn the two pieces, keeping the filling visible. Pind the ends to seal.
  6. Place the braid on a tray lined with butter -greased parchment paper and floured with flour.
  7. Brush with the egg and cream mixture. Sprinkle with yellow sugar if desired.

Cook

  1. Bake for 45 to 60 minutes or until the bread is golden and cooked inside.
  2. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
