What if a good cleansing oil was (almost) all you needed to achieve clean, soft, fresh and well-moisturized skin? It's true, a good face oil formulated with 100% natural ingredients that respect the skin's pH without damaging it can work wonders. And even for the most problematic or reactive skin, the right cleansing oil can be the solution and do much more than you think for the health and beauty of your skin.
Benefits of cleansing oil
Cleansing oils are spectacular for cleansing the skin, removing impurities and make-up. They clean deeply but gently, leaving the skin soft, moisturized and healthy. And that goes for all skin types!
To keep your skin happy, we recommend cleansing your face twice a day: in the morning, when you wake up, to "wake up" your skin for the new day, and in the evening, before you go to sleep, to deep cleanse and prepare your skin for the regenerative process that takes place during your hours of rest.
These are some of the benefits of cleansing oils:
- They respect the skin's pH, leaving the skin's natural oils intact, unlike what can happen with cleansing foams and gels
- They balance excessive oiliness
- Preserve the skin's microbiome, maintaining the balance between good and bad bacteria
- Remove dead cells e cleanses pores
- Remove make-up e dirt accumulated
- They prepare the skin to absorb the botanical active ingredients of your beauty products more effectively
- Because they have the right texture for massage, they promote the circulation e activate lymphatic drainage
- Strengthen the protective barrier barrier
- Moisturizes deeply, especially the driest skins
- Soothes skin inflammations such as acne and rosacea
Answering questions
Cleansing oils are wonderful for cleansing all skin types, from the driest to the oiliest. The question is finding the right oil for your skin type.
I have dry skin, should I cleanse less often?
Absolutely not! Cleansing your skin is really that basic ritual, where everything begins, and you can't miss it. If you have dry skin, you should be careful not to use products with a very aggressive pH, such as gel or foam products, as these are more likely to unbalance the skin's pH. These foamy products have a more alkaline pH which will accentuate dryness, irritation and discomfort.
My skin is prone to excess oil, can I still use an oil?
The answer is yes, yes and yes! It sounds contradictory, but because they respect the skin's natural oils, cleansing oils can actually help control excessive oil production. Basically, it's a question of balance. When we cleanse the skin with more "aggressive" products, such as a gel or foam, this can trigger the opposite effect: the skin becomes more irritated, and reacts by producing more oil. This doesn't happen with natural cleansing oils.
What if I don't cleanse my skin before bed?
That's a bad idea. It's essential to cleanse your skin every night before bed to remove dirt, impurities, make-up, dead cells and pollution. If you don't, it's as if you're wearing a face mask of dirt and toxins, which will cause premature ageing, acne and an uneven texture.
Are cleansing oils good for removing make-up? What about sunscreen?
Absolutely! They clean deeply but gently, removing all traces of make-up (even waterproof make-up) and even the thickest sunscreen from the skin. You can use them all over your face, including your eyes and to remove lipstick.
How to use your cleansing oil
For your oil cleansing ritual to be really effective and delicious, you'll need a cotton facial towel. Soak the 100% cotton facial towel in hot water and rinse. Repeat this process at least twice, so that the towel is very hot and can create the desired steam effect. Then cover your face with the damp, warm towel. The heat will act and help the pores to open up. Finally, add a few drops of jasmine oil or camellia oil on a damp towel and massage gently in a circular motion over the face and neck.
Now that you know everything a good cleansing oil can do for you, we really want you to try it and feel it on your skin. Our Jasmine: cleansing oil and make-up removercleanses the skin, removes impurities and is great for removing make-up. 100% organic for use with facial towel (also available in cleansing kit) or by putting a few drops on a cotton pad to remove make-up. For more sensitive and reactive skin, we recommend the Camelliawith camellia japonica, moringa oil and rosehip, super light and soothing, wonderful for removing excessive oiliness, leaving your skin soft and radiant.
