MPL Tips: Autumn Essentials

And just like that… autumn arrived !

As we enter autumn, we begin to spend more time indoors, and it's natural that you also spend more time with yourself. Therefore, it's a perfect time for self-care, to prepare our skin and strengthen our immune system for winter.

With the arrival of the new season, there are some changes you can (and should) consider in your skincare routine. In summer, our skin is more exposed to the sun, and therefore more susceptible to inflammation. But it's also true that this is when we all have naturally luminous skin (when well cared for and hydrated, of course) and, essentially, free from toxins associated with makeup products. With the change of season, the climate changes and the skin's needs change too. Learning how to transition our skincare routine is really important!

TO CLEAN

Cleanse your skin of pollutants, morning and night. Our skin accumulates a lot of the pollution we are exposed to (if you live in the countryside you may not feel it as much as someone who lives in the city), so it is very important to do a deeper pore cleansing. It's also a way to remove makeup residue that accumulates on the skin.

The best way to deeply and gently cleanse your skin is with afacial washcloth . Soak it in warm water and wring it out well. Place the washcloth over your face and leave it for a few seconds, creating a... Steam effect. Rinse the towel again in hot water, wring it out well, and place a few drops of cleansing oil on the towel. Gently wipe your face. This not only helps remove dead skin cells and cleanse the skin, but also deeply hydrates and nourishes at a cellular level. By the way, you'll feel it automatically – your skin will be super soft, and you won't need anything else to keep it that way throughout the day. It's the best way to hydrate! You can also use this method to remove makeup. It's a super quick ritual that makes all the difference. Curious? You can read more here . Everything you need to know about using and choosing the right cleansing oil for your skin.

HYDRATE

With lower temperatures, it's natural to feel our skin drier – both body and face. It's really important to moisturize the whole body, especially since we're also massaging the skin, warming the body and stimulating blood circulation. You can use the Hydrating Balm , which was created specifically for this time of year and for those who suffer from dry skin. It's so nourishing that the skin seems to "absorb" all its benefits, becoming softer, more elastic, and firmer. On the face, apply Regenerate in the morning, a super-hydrating concentrated balm, especially indicated for more sensitive, dry, oily, or problematic skin. It has a highly moisturizing formula that doesn't leave the skin too oily and at the same time soothes inflammation, keeping the skin's pH balanced.

EXFOLIATE

Twice a week, set aside time for a body scrub – it makes all the difference! Besides being a relaxing moment, it's essential for regeneration – it removes all dead cells and leaves the skin more vibrant, while also hydrating it. For Autumn, I recommend Relax , with magnesium to relax muscles and relieve tension (which is very common to accumulate at this time of year… have you noticed how you shrink and tense up when the weather gets colder?!) , or Stimulate , full of matcha antioxidants and citrus essential oils, for deep hydration and to reduce skin inflammation. Always rinse your skin with warm water before applying a small amount of scrub, gently and in circular motions, and finish with warm water to cleanse.

NATURAL LIFTING

I always recommend storing your Gua Sha and facial rollers in the refrigerator for a more refreshing effect. And actually, using these natural lifting tools in colder weather seems to have an even more astringent effect. But that's not all. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this treatment is commonly prescribed during cold and flu season, precisely because it helps decongest the mucous membranes. Besides using it on the face, lifting the features around the eyes, jawline, and forehead, you can also use it on the neck and shoulders, especially if you feel congested. In addition to stimulating the lymphatic system and helping to decongest, if you have a cold and body aches, Gua Sha is great for relieving tension. You can see here how to use Gua Sha correctly and get results.

HYDRATION

It's very natural to drink less water when the weather gets colder, because the heat makes us feel thirstier. But we still need to stay hydrated! Start with a glass of warm water in the morning and, if you want to make it even more powerful, add one or two droppers of Skin Drops or Beauty Drops . These are doses of very important minerals to support collagen production, keeping your skin firmer, more elastic and deeply hydrated. And of course, maintain your fluid intake throughout the day. If it's too cold to drink water, drink warm water or opt for infusions . Remember that 2 liters is the minimum essential to keep your entire body functioning fully, which is reflected in your skin.

These are my tips, but think about what makes the most sense for you. Which of these phases do you feel you struggle with most in your routine? Then start there and feel the differences. Take advantage of the shift to a quieter, more introspective season to think more about yourself and invest some time in rituals that take care of you.

Strengthen your hair.

Autumn is synonymous with seasonal hair loss . Sun exposure, longer days, and even the heat slightly alter the hormonal levels that regulate hair growth. When the days start to get shorter, the cooler weather, the return to routine, and the stress of daily life will undoubtedly affect the hormonal balance that plays a fundamental role in hair health. The body enters a new rhythm—and the hair follows suit.

The scalp also feels the changes. Drier air, hotter water in the shower, and even the stress of returning to the post-summer routine inevitably leave the scalp more sensitive and dehydrated, which worsens hair loss.

What can you do? There are natural ways to stop hair loss, stimulate growth, strengthen hair, and support the follicles:

  • Stimulate your scalp with a daily massage. Here, we advocate nourishing the follicle to give it everything it needs to be strong and grow. I recommend using the Super Hair Serum and massaging it in with your fingertips or a jade comb .

  • Nourishing from the inside out, supporting hormonal balance will inevitably affect the strength and health of our hair. If you feel this is the main reason for your significant hair loss - try a cocktail of medicinal plants and vitamins that directly support the follicle and its health.

  • Avoid harsh brushes or very tight hairstyles.

Strengthen your immunity.

It seems that inevitably the seasons change, the children start school, and suddenly it seems like everyone has a cold. The change of season calls for strong defenses; we should have a ritual of " September arrives and let's boost our immunity" ;)

Here we have the Super Immunity range, created during a time when we needed a major boost, and nothing beats ancient medicinal plants. And the best part is that we have several versions:

  • Infusion – a comforting tea that hydrates and protects.

  • Drops – they boost the immune response. And you can simply add them to your water and drink it.

  • Soluble drink – a delicious beverage!! With turmeric and adaptogenic medicinal plants that increase resilience and also support a good mood.

CLEANSE THE ENERGIES

Autumn is also a time of inner renewal. Use Palo Santo to purify the environment, release negative energies, and make room for the new.

This fall, focus on a routine of hydration, protection, and balance . With MPL Beauty essentials , you'll maintain healthy skin, strong hair, and a boosted immune system, always from the inside out.
