Rain? Cold? How about making a delicious cake that literally takes 5 minutes to make and is simply delicious?
Fluffy, buttery, and "not too sweet"... what more could you ask for in a banana cake?
Wait, what if we added matcha and a brown sugar topping for the perfect topping?
Ingredients:
- 3g of matcha powder (or FOCO blend)
- 3 very ripe bananas
- 1 egg (at room temperature)
- 85g of unsalted butter, melted
- 1 pinch of salt
- 70g of light brown sugar
- 90g of wheat flour
- 3g of baking powder
Optional, but highly recommended:
- Light brown sugar for the topping
- 1 banana, cut in half lengthwise.
Instructions:
-
Make sure the bananas are very ripe and have brown skin. If not, bake them for 10-15 minutes at 150°C. Then, mash 2 and a half bananas (reserve the other half for the topping). Preheat the oven to 180°C.
-
Melt the butter and mix it with the brown sugar in a bowl until you obtain a smooth texture.
-
Add the egg to the mixture and stir well. Then, incorporate the mashed bananas and, if using, the rum. Mix until smooth.
-
Sift together the matcha powder, flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt directly into the mixture. Stir until all ingredients are combined, but avoid overmixing.
-
Pour the mixture into a loaf pan that has been previously lined with parchment paper. Place half of the reserved banana on top and sprinkle with a little brown sugar to create a crispy crust.
-
Bake for about 35 minutes at 180°C, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Final Tip:
This matcha banana cake is perfect for a special breakfast or afternoon snack. Serve it plain or topped with a layer of butter or coconut cream for an extra special touch!
THE BENEFITS OF MATCHA
Sustained Energy Without Peaks
Matcha contains L-theanine , an amino acid that provides more stable and focused energy than the caffeine in coffee. For women with busy days or who want to avoid an energy crash, matcha is an excellent ally.
Support for Hormonal Balance
The antioxidants in matcha, such as polyphenols (EGCG), help reduce oxidative stress, which can interfere with hormone levels. Additionally, it may improve insulin sensitivity, helping to balance hormones related to metabolism and the menstrual cycle.
Benefits for the Skin
- Antioxidant action: Matcha fights free radicals, preventing premature aging and helping to maintain skin elasticity.
- Detoxification: The chlorophyll present in matcha purifies the body and can improve the appearance of the skin, reducing inflammation and imperfections.
- Reducing dark circles: The natural caffeine in matcha stimulates circulation, helping to reduce dark circles and puffiness.
Stress Reduction
Matcha promotes the production of dopamine and serotonin , substances that help improve mood and reduce symptoms of anxiety. It is ideal for those who deal with daily stress or need a moment of calm.
Support for Mental Health and Concentration
Thanks to L-theanine , matcha improves concentration and memory, helping with multitasking. This benefit is particularly useful for women who manage multiple roles at work and in their personal lives.
Accelerates Metabolism in a Healthy Way
The EGCG in matcha may help increase thermogenesis (calorie burning) without overstimulating the nervous system, making it a safe option for those looking to maintain or lose weight.
Bowel Regulation and Digestive Health
Matcha has anti-inflammatory properties that benefit the gut flora, helping to improve digestion and reduce discomfort such as bloating.
Support for Liver Health
Regular consumption of matcha can protect the liver, helping it to detoxify efficiently. This benefit is especially relevant for women who regularly consume medications, alcohol, or processed foods.
Combating Fatigue and Menstrual Toxins
During the menstrual cycle, matcha can help reduce inflammation and combat fluid retention. Its antioxidant and detoxifying action supports the body during this phase.
Prevention of Chronic Diseases
Matcha contains powerful catechins, which have anti-cancer properties and protect the heart. It also helps balance cholesterol levels and improve cardiovascular health, important factors for women of all ages.
MPL Tip:
To maximize the benefits, choose a high-quality (ceremonial) matcha and consume it consistently. Try adding it to smoothies, desserts, or tea rituals to incorporate these benefits into your daily life!
