5 WAYS TO TREAT DAMAGED HAIR

Beach days are here, and hair deserves extra attention, because we may love the sun and diving (and we do!) but we already know that we're going to expose our hair to more stress, either because of UV rays, which damage keratin and accelerate collagen degradation, or because of salt, which can dry out even more dehydrated hair, or because we're going to get it wet and dry it more often.

Achieving dream hair requires dedication, care and patience, but it is possible! Because there's always time to prevent damage or restore our hair's strength and beauty, here are our 5 tips for treating damaged hair, just in time for the summer season (and beyond!).

Lower the temperature

Excess heat (from a hairdryer, straightener or other heat styling tools) is one of hair's worst enemies. Whenever possible, let your hair air dry and only use the hairdryer at the end. Another trick to reduce drying time is to first wrap your hair in an absorbent towel to remove excess water, then let it air dry, and only then blow dry. If you really can't do without the straightener, try using it at a lower temperature. You'll find it works just as well and your hair will thank you for it. And of course, whenever you subject your hair to high temperatures, protect it with our Hair Sunscreenwith nourishing natural oils and natural silicone (derived from bamboo) that create a protective barrier against the heat that leaves hair dry and brittle. Perfect for use before blow-drying and whenever you expose your hair to the sun, of course.

Nourish your hair

It really is essential: a conditionerr with natural, hair-friendly ingredients will be your best friend when you're working on repairing damaged hair. When applied, the conditioner helps to fortify the hair cuticle with a protective layer, which gives it strength and shine. Make sure that when you apply the conditioner, you first twist your hair to remove excess water. This will allow the product to be better absorbed by your hair and ensure that the hair shaft receives all the product's nourishing benefits. For even more intensive nourishment, try our super hair mask, with powerful natural oils and butters, to moisturize, strengthen and recover dry or brittle hair. Apply to dry hair and leave on.

Be gentle (and let go of your hair!)

Even if it seems difficult, try to wear your hair loose whenever possible. Tying it up in tight ponytails is one of the easiest ways to cause breakage. If you have to tie it up, try using softer elastics, or a type of clip that leaves your hair looser.

Also be gentle when brushing your hair. When it's wet, hair is more vulnerable and fragile. At this point, use a wide-tooth comb to detangle it, starting at the ends and moving gently upwards. O moon comb is perfect for this.

Did you know that hair has a memory? That after it's been up for a while it tends to become more "tense". Whenever you wear your hair up, after releasing it, massage it with the moon comb. jade combto gently stimulate the scalp, promoting the growth of new strands, but also helping the hair to "relax".

Cut the ends regularly

Healthy hair starts at the scalp and ends at the tips. That's why it's so important to maintain and cut the ends regularly. If you do this, you'll prevent the ends from splitting and becoming split. Cut the ends every 4-6 weeks if you're maintaining a certain length or haircut, or every 8-12 weeks if you're growing your hair out.

And give it time!

It takes time to see your hair grow (it grows between 1cm and 1.5cm a month) and patience to repair damaged hair. You also need to be vigilant. There are more and more products with "miracle" promises that guarantee immediate results - try not to be fooled by them! Most of these products contain synthetic ingredients that will only create more damage to your hair in the long term, as well as being bad for the planet. These products may even have a momentary effect, for example, an unusual shine, but you'll find that it doesn't last, precisely because it's artificial! So remember: it may take some time for your hair to recover and regenerate, but if you take good care of it and choose the right products, you'll see that it's worth it.
